Resident Evil 4 Remake Gameplay Details

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023, the developer has announced a lot of information about this game. We can already know some information about the gameplay, which will help us to adapt to the content of the game at the beginning. Here we will introduce you to the gameplay in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Dagger Block

Now Lyon can deflect more than chainsaws with his trusty knife. In fact, from what I've seen of the gameplay, you can block anything with your knife. Whether it's an airborne torch, an accelerating arrow, or even the tentacled claws of a head-bursting parasite, Leon's new and improved knife can deal with them all.

This huge upgrade in functionality is not without some compromises. Unlike the original, the knife now has a durability bar, like what Resident Evil 2 Remake did with the knife. So while the extra versatility adds more variety to Resident Evil 4's combat formula, it's not without some resource management considerations. Also, Lyon now can dodge lethal blows, allowing players to dodge attacks such as Garrador in an instant.

Expanded exploration

While the original Resident Evil 4 was presented in a very traditional Resident Evil standard, the remake takes a broader approach, giving players more room to wander and explore uncommon areas. More, this also includes the freedom to explore by motorboat.

In the original version, driving a motorboat was limited to Del Lago battles. This time, but, you will be able to control the motorboat, traverse the deep waters of the caves, and explore other areas. Many of these areas seem to be blocked off, but can be accessed by solving small puzzles, like the badge puzzle that appeared only once in the original version outside the village church.

Item Storage

New to Resident Evil 4 Remastered is the addition of storage - a staple of many other versions of the series but omitted from the original RE4. Whenever Leon visits the typewriter, players can now store their items there. This is important because in the original game if you ran out of space you had to sell or give up those items, which sometimes meant giving up weapons as well.

Appearance and charms

In the original game, I enjoyed spending a lot of time organizing my inventory the most, which is why this new addition is fun. Players can now change the appearance of chests. This is a small but well-thought-out change that acknowledges the importance of the game's systems.

The look of the case isn't the only customizable addition. Lyon can now attach three runes to his case, each with its gameplay bonus. The game showed me the chicken rune, which is the ability to gain 100% life when the player eats an egg.

Some changes to the female lead

Among the many changes in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the most interesting is Ashley herself. She has undergone a major redo in some inspiring ways. The most notable is her lack of a life bar. Players no longer need to check their health, give her medicine, or worry about upgrades. Instead, when Ashley is injured, she will be incapacitated and players will need to get her back on her feet by interacting with her.

Another change is the way Ashley is commanded. Ashley now has two basic choices, either give Lyon some space in the battle or follow him.
